one of my favorite parts about motherhood is bearing witness to the land of make-believe.
When my daughter was about seven years old, she asked me one day what I did at work. I told her I worked at the college – that my job was to teach people how to draw. She stared at me, incredulous, and said, “You mean they forget?” ~Howard Ikemoto
a serious case of the giggles
“Then followed that beautiful season… Summer….
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.”
-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
i hope everyone had a fun father’s day. we started the day with hike and then had some friends over for a bbq and swimming. lots of laughs and tons of fun had by all.
i have so much advise for you. you’re just like me. you’re always yearning for something that is hidden beneath the depths. you’ll find it. i finally did. but finding something profoundly important takes time. realize early that it is going to be a long process. you’ll have to work through the muck slowly. i will always be here to remind you to live fully while you’re searching. life will eventually show you the way, one step at a time. when you’re ready son, when you’re ready.
